Are dogs welcome?
We are happy for up to two well behaved dogs to join you on your holiday. Please take note of the doggy welcome pack and guidelines for your furry friends at the accommodation.
Are there places to eat out locally?
Yes, we are very lucky that there are a number of great eateries only a few miles away. Our closest is the Old Rectory Hotel and is dog friendly in the bar. In Crickhowell The Bear and The Dragon Inn are both local favourites and The Vine Tree is lovely for a more special occasion.
Where can we go locally with young children?
Llangattock has a lovely park ideal for a run around and a picnic. Gilwern has a wonderful pump track and park. Or how about a trip to Raglan Castle or Raglan farm park with a great range of activities from farm animals to soft play and zip wires.
What can I do on a wet day?
There are lots of things to do just a short drive from the accommodation. Younger children would enjoy Kingdom Come soft play in Abergavenny, or Raglan Farm Park. Older children would have fun at Llangorse Multi Activity Centre with its indoor climbing walls or Hollywood bowl or Vue cinema in Cwmbran.
Where can I get food supplies?
We have a wonderful range of independent shops in Crickhowell with two wonderful butchers, F.E. Richards and Cashells with a lovely greengrocer and deli section too, you can pre-order for collection or delivery.
If you need to do a bigger shop then in Abergavenny you will find Aldi, Morrisons and Waitrose. Tuesday and Friday are market days in Abergavenny where there are even more lovely local products to be found.
Where is the nearest cash machine?
At the Shell garage in Crickhowell.
Where can I walk in the area?
We are very lucky to have wonderful walking from our front door. We have an OS map in the accommodation which shows all our footpaths and bridle ways. We also have a selection of walking books suggesting other local routes. Or you could try walking on the Mon and Brec canal, Table Mountain or The Sugarloaf mountain. If you fancy a bigger challenge Pen-Y-Fan is only a forty minute drive away and the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons.
What are the sleeping arrangements at the accommodation?
The accommodation sleeps up to six people, but please bear in mind the tube bed is only suitable for smaller children.
The master bedroom has a king size bed with an award winning Emma mattress for amazing comfort and a great nights sleep.
The second bedroom also sleeps two and can be made up as a king size double or two singles. The room will be made up as a double unless you request the twin beds.
And the third, children’s room, has a standard single bed and our quirky tube bed.
Is the outdoor space child/dog safe?
Our outdoor patio area is completely fenced in with dog proof gates so it is completely safe to let your dogs or children play out there safely. We have a bbq, rotary washing line, swing ball and table tennis table and equipment and outdoor seating to make the space enjoyable for your stay.
Does the property have a log burner?
No. We don’t currently have a log burner but the property is heated with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators in each room upstairs.
